Reviews move the needle this year. Here is how we build them.

We measure our own search results the way we measure a client's: run the searches, write down what is there, then work the part that can change this year.

The method

Pick the searches your business should win. Run them signed out, on a phone, from the town you work. Write down what comes back: the three businesses in the map results, the ordinary links under them, and where you sit in each. Do it on a schedule, not when you feel like it, so the next reading means something.

Then sort what you find into what you can move this year and what you cannot. Years on Google, you cannot move. Reviews, you can.

What ours said

Six searches. Web design in Gig Harbor, web design in Tacoma, and four more. Across those searches 118 businesses are listed in the map results and we are not one of them. In the ordinary links we appear once, at position six. The two businesses above us have been on Google for ten years and twenty five years, carrying twenty seven and thirteen reviews. We carry five.

How we build reviews

Ask every customer while the work is still fresh, in person or by text, and make leaving one a single tap on a link that opens the review box. Never batch a year of asking into one week: a steady trickle reads as a working business, a burst reads as a campaign. Answer every review, including the bad one, in public.

We re-run those six searches with every weekly reading and publish what they say, up or down. If you want the same measurement for your own business, that is what our free website check is.
