Started from the bottom: what a typical trades site scores

Before you can show a climb, you have to be honest about the floor. Here's where most local sites actually sit.

The two numbers

Charted is how findable you are on Google today. Horizon is whether AI assistants can read, trust, and recommend you. Both run 0 to 100. A typical local trades site scores low on the first and near the floor on the second, not because the owner did anything wrong, but because nobody built the signals search and AI actually read.

Why the floor is so low

Most sites have no structured data, no llms.txt, thin pages, a PDF menu or a single scrolling page, and a contact address the machines can't parse. None of that is visible to a human visitor, so it never gets fixed. It's exactly what our scoreboard is built to surface, and exactly the gap the rest of this log is about closing.
